The Segmented Video Player is a tool for playing vertical or ultra-wide (horizontal) video on a standard 16:9 monitor. The player splits vertical video or ultra-wide video into a specified number of 'segments' and allows you to quickly switch between them on the fly, while the video is playing.
I studied digital graphic design at Cal State Northridge (CSUN). In school I learned core design principles, industry standard Adobe applications as well as HTML, CSS and Wordpress.
Around the same time I started getting involved in video game development, learning programming with a game engine called Game Maker. Through my experience in game development, I learned how programming could be combined with my background in art & design to create fun, and unique, interactive experiences.
After graduating, I landed a job as an interactive designer at Tremor Video, where I initially spent my time designing and building interactive web ads for a host of well known companies.
Over the next few years at Tremor Video I became increasingly involved on the development side, with my focus shifting from designing and building web ads to building the underlying ad formats, along with reusable components and features. This work eventually culminated with me pivoting from my interactive design role to a full fledged web development role.
From that point forward my positions have continued to be more on the development side, although I have unofficially served as both designer + developer on numerous projects throughout my career.
As a senior web tools engineer on Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, I work with gameplay feature owners to develop web based solutions for live operating game configurations.
At Funimation/Crunchroll I lead the creative department’s dev team, working closely with the Creative Director to plan, roadmap, and delegate as well as execute both internal and consumer facing web projects.
At Vitu I architected, designed and prototyped a web based remote terminal tool capable automating data entry for an archaic government computer system.
During my time at Tremor Video I developed interactive HTML based ad formats, components and features, wrote extensive documentation/tutorials, trained new design hires and built internal websites and pages.
At CSUN I studied digital graphic design, learning all of the standard Adobe applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. as well HTML/CSS and Wordpress.
